The Cross Is Ours To Take

There are times when “accepting” is our only option. When we’re out of choices… we can see we can’t get our way… for now… but we fully intend to when the opportunity arises.

As followers of Christ, however, we’ve chosen to accept to loose.

We’ve chosen to lay down our “own way” and accept by faith His way.

That requires a special strength…
His, not ours.

When it comes to God’s dealings in our lives, our own strength and wisdom aren’t enough to hold us up.

“God’s dealings?”

Christians, the Lord’s greatest blessing for us to accept is the cross as ours to take.

There’s nothing like suffering to test, approve and refine our faith to lay the way for His life to shine through us for the sake of others.

Heb 5:8 – though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

Light And Darkness, Sin And Forgiveness

1 John 1:9

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

1 John 1:5-10

Was Blind, But Now I See

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind but now I see

Was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come
T’was Grace that brought us safe thus far
And Grace will lead us home
And Grace will lead us home

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

Was blind, but now I see

Placing Our Trust In God Is A Choice

When my mind starts racing with questions and doubts, I have to stop and ask myself: what kind of God do I believe in? Ultimately, placing our trust in God is a choice.

There are times we trust God because of what we can see, but there are also times when we have to trust God in spite of what we see. Even when the world around me is falling apart, I know that God is still good. Even when I feel like I’m falling apart on the inside, I know that God is still good. His character and faithfulness never changes. Ever.

After 30 years of following Jesus, there is still so much I don’t understand, but God is God and I am not. Just because we don’t see the whole picture at once doesn’t mean God isn’t holding all the pieces together in his hands.
