Relax in His Presence

Proverbs 23 Saying 19

Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
    Who has strife? Who has complaints?
    Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
Those who linger over wine,
    who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.
Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
    when it sparkles in the cup,
    when it goes down smoothly!
In the end it bites like a snake
    and poisons like a viper.
Your eyes will see strange sights,
    and your mind will imagine confusing things.
You will be like one sleeping on the high seas,
    lying on top of the rigging.
“They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt!
    They beat me, but I don’t feel it!
When will I wake up
    so I can find another drink?”

Proverbs 23 Saying 19

Proverbs 21:30

Proverbs 21:30
Proverbs 21:30 – There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan
    that can succeed against the Lord.

Proverbs 21:30

Thoughts on Proverbs 21:30

No matter how fresh the start nor how great the plans we have made, if we do not walk with God, the coming year will not be a spiritual success. As we receive this gift of a new year, let’s commit to serving the Lord. As we make plans for the coming days ahead, let’s make sure that those plans are made based on the LORD’s revealed will in Scripture, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and prayerful consideration of what our God wants us to accomplish.

Proverbs 3:6

Proverbs 3:6

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:6 NKJV

Proverbs 3:5-12

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
    don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
    he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
    Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
    your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
    give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
    your wine vats will brim over.
But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
    don’t sulk under his loving correction.
It’s the child he loves that God corrects;
    a father’s delight is behind all this.
