Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
Isaiah 41:10
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
But he was pierced for our rebellion,
Isaiah 53:5 NLT
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
What always strikes me most about these words is that they were written around 500 years in advance of Christ’s birth by Isaiah.
I find the fact that Isaiah wrote about Christ in such detail in advance of Him coming and then for his prophecies to be fulfilled by Jesus, strengthens my faith immeasurably.
Even to your old age and gray hairs
Isaiah 46:4
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
New International Version
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:5-6
